Moving to and living in Hørsholm

Hørsholm is a municipality on the coast of Øresund approximately 25 km (15.53 mi) north of Copenhagen. The neighbouring municipalities are the municipalities of Fredensborg-Humlebæk and Rudersdal.

In Hørsholm you will find beautiful nature, breathtaking forests and popular beaches. A well-attended harbour in Rungsted with various shops, restaurants and cafés. With a rich commercial life, you can find almost everything you need at Hørsholm Midtpunkt – a large, modern shopping centre in the town centre. Last but not least we have top rated schools, a well-known and recognized music school and a pulsating culture & arts hub in Trommen (The Drum).

As a resident in Hørsholm you can lead an active lifestyle by taking advantage of a wide range of offers within culture, sports and outdoor activities such as marked running trails, shelters, sublime golf courses and much more.

A new and exciting residential area for newcomers of all ages is being developed on Usserød Kongevej – close to the town centre and recreational parks. The site used to host the local hospital, and the pull-down process started in August 2016. The building process is planned to kick off in 2018.

The town hall in Hørsholm is located at Ådalsparkvej 2. Contact your town hall if you have general questions or concerns related to your living arrangements, economic support or child care, etc. There are free parking spaces in front of and behind the building.
